The HX family is a range of purpose-designed tactical military trucks manufactured by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV). The HX range was introduced in 2003, with the first order placed in 2004. It replaced the earlier FX and LX ranges in production.
The HX2 range, currently (as of 2024) complementing the original HX range, was announced in 2012, and the first HX2 trucks were delivered in April 2016. Initially, the HX and HX2 ranges complemented the SX range, but by 2019, they had fully replaced the SX range as it was no longer produced.
The HX3 range was announced in May 2021, with series production planned to start in 2025. By the end of 2011, the relevant production facilities of the partner companies were integrated into the joint venture structure, though they remain at their locations in Kassel, Germany (Rheinmetall) and Vienna, Austria (MAN). RMMV initially had around 370 employees, eventually growing to a maximum of approximately 1,800.
